Following the approval of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Br. Bernard “Bernie” S. Oca FSC as Adviser to the De La Salle Alumni Association Board of Directors effective 25 March 2007.  This position was held by Br. Rafael S. Donato FSC until his untimely demise in November, 2006.

Br. Oca is a full Lasallian (GS ‘67, LSGH HS ‘71, AB ‘74, MAEd ‘83) and was the Vice-President for External Affairs of DLSU-Manila and President of La Salle Green Hills.  He volunteered to supervise the newly-established Jaime Hilario Integrated School – La Salle in Bagac, Bataan and, thereafter, was appointed president of DLS Professional Schools, a position he currently holds.  Indeed, Br. Oca brings to the DLSAA Board his educational and administrative wisdom and, more importantly, his deep network of alumni friends and prior exposure to alumni affairs.

Accordingly, I would now like to request all alumni to extend full support to Br. Oca on his efforts to strengthen the bond among the DLSAA, the DLS Brothers, and other Lasallian schools, whilst providing valuable counsel to the DLSAA Board.
